Opening hours

  • Open every day 10-17
  • From June 27 to August 12, 2026: open every day 10-18
  • However, closed on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1

Ticket prices

Adult (18+ years): 110 kr. per person

Everyone under 18 is always admitted free of charge*
*Children under 15 are only admitted when accompanied by an adult.

Students: DKK 95 per person*
*On presentation of valid student ID

Group (min. 15 adults): DKK 95 per person

 

Arrival and parking

Museum address: Odins Plads 1, 6760 Ribe.

There are parking spaces outside the museum. Parking is free for 3 hours with a parking disk.

Food and drink

Bring your own food

You are welcome to eat your own food at the museum. There is room for you in our café. Drinks must be purchased in the café.

In the café you can buy hot and cold drinks and ice cream.

A great museum visit starts even before you walk through the door. On this page you'll find practical information about parking, whether your dog can come along and other things you need to know so you can easily plan your visit.

In the Ribe Viking Museum shop you will find a large selection of items with references to the Viking Age and medieval Ribe.

 

Find exciting books, buy beautiful jewelry, or give the kids a cool Viking sword or a cute teddy bear.

 

We also have plenty of edible and drinkable treats on the shelves.

What can I pay with?

The museum accepts both Danish kroner, euro (banknotes) and Dankort, Visa, Eurocard, MasterCard, American Express, Diners, JCB and Maestro.

Can I bring dogs and other animals to the museum?

Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the museum.

However, service dogs and guide dogs on leashes are always allowed.

Do you have a wardrobe?

We have lockers with lockers that are free to use.

Can I take pictures and record video?

It is allowed to take photos and video for private use.

If you want to take photos and video for commercial use, you must have a prior agreement. Contact us at kontakt@musvest.dk for more information.

Can I get a discount?

The following have free admission:

  • Everyone under the age of 18
  • Companions upon presentation of a valid companion card
  • Hjemme-hos/hjemmebaseret indsats: Free access for the companion in working clothes, accompanied by the child to whom the companion is assigned and a parent. Proof of work authorization must be shown.
  • Blind people
  • People with a valid annual pass
  • Press and photographers (by prior arrangement only)

The following can get a discount:

  • Students upon presentation of a valid student ID.
  • Groups with more than 15 adults get a discount.
  • Wheelchair and walker users

Pensioners cannot get a discount.

Can I get around the museum in a wheelchair?

The museum is on several floors. Disabled access is available on all floors via the museum elevator. The museum has a disabled toilet and can also provide a wheelchair for people with walking difficulties.

The museum offers free admission for disabled companions with a valid companion card.
