Take a trip back to the beginning of Viking history

The story of the world's first Viking city begins with a marketplace on the banks of a river. It's around the year 700, and the marketplace quickly develops into an actual city. The town grows in size and importance, and during the Viking Age it becomes a center for craftsmanship and a hub for trade between Denmark and Europe.

In this tour, you will be taken on aDiscover the history of Ribe from the beginning to the middle of the 8th century. Along the way, you'll gain insight into the fascinating work of the craftsmen, the town's trade and daily life, and get up close to the unique objects that the museum's archaeologists have dug out of the ground from the Viking Age Ribe.

The tour can be booked Monday-Friday 10am-3pm - except during school holidays.
